Company check
Ownership, finances and delivery history
Uncovers ownership structure, beneficial owners, finances and legal matters from public registers. Critical for choosing suppliers, hiring in consultants and vetting customers.
Company checks cannot be ordered in the platform yet. You fill in a short form, and we come back with a quote tailored to the company you want checked.
Why it matters
Do you know who is behind the bid?
Hidden ownership structures, weak finances and ongoing disputes rarely surface in the tender documents. A company check gathers the facts from the source, so you know the supplier before you sign.
- Direct searches in public registers
We take our data straight from the source - Enhetsregisteret, Foretaksregisteret, Regnskapsregisteret and Løsøreregisteret, the Norwegian public registers - so the information is current and correct.
- Follows the ownership chain to the top
Group structure and beneficial owners are mapped.
- Critical for procurement and hiring in consultants
For supplier selection, hiring in consultants and customer due diligence, a documented company check is sound governance.
How it works
-
Public register searches Automatic extraction from Enhetsregisteret, Foretaksregisteret and Regnskapsregisteret.
-
Mapping of ownership and roles Shareholders, group structure, board, managing director and signing rights are identified.
-
Finances and legal matters Financial statements, credit rating, pledges, bankruptcy and litigation are mapped.
-
Structured reference check Conversations with the named referees in a fixed question order - covering delivery, time, cost and staffing.
-
Report with a summary Every finding is presented with its source and date, and a summary of the main points comes first.
What's included
What we check
- Ownership structure and beneficial owners
- Board, managing director and signing rights
- Financial statements and key figures
- Credit rating and payment defaults
- Pledges and security interests
- Bankruptcy, compulsory dissolution and litigation
- Sanctions lists and PEP screening
- Reference check of previous engagements
Scope is put together per assignment - you decide how deep we go. Company checks are carried out on limited companies and other registered legal entities; sole proprietorships (ENK) are not covered, because a credit check on a sole proprietorship is in practice a credit check on the holder as a private individual.
Why it works
What you actually get out of it
You know who is behind the company
Ownership, group structure and roles are mapped from the registers, so you can see who actually controls the company you are considering.
Documentation that stands up to scrutiny
Every finding carries its source and date. In public procurement, that means the decision can be justified afterwards.
References asked the same questions
Every referee is taken through an identical question order, so the answers can genuinely be compared between suppliers.
How to order
Fill in the form and we will come back with a quote
A company check does not cost the same every time. A small company with a single owner is a different job from a group with foreign owners several layers up, and some assignments need only ownership and finances while others go all the way down to litigation and references. We put together the right scope after a short conversation - and the price follows the scope.
- 1. You send the form Tell us which company it concerns and what you need to know.
- 2. We have a short conversation Ten minutes on the phone or by email is enough to settle how deep the check should go.
- 3. You get a quote at a fixed price Scope, price and delivery time in writing, before we start.

Frequently asked questions
What does a company check cost?
It depends on the company. A small company with one owner and one set of annual accounts is a different job from a group with foreign owners several layers up. So we quote after a short conversation about what you need, rather than publishing a price list that would not fit your assignment anyway.
Can I order a company check myself in the platform?
Not yet. Company checks are ordered today by filling in the form on this page, and we come back with a quote. Background checks on people, by contrast, you order yourself in the Right Person platform.
Can you check a sole proprietorship (ENK)?
No. A sole proprietorship is not a separate legal person, so a credit check at company level is in practice a credit check on the holder as a private individual - a different legal basis, and one that issues a copy notice to that person. We therefore run company checks only on limited companies and other registered legal entities. To check a person, you need a background check with that person's consent.
Who replies when I submit the form?
A person here - not a chatbot and not an automated reply. We read the enquiry, ask any follow-up questions, and send you a quote with scope and price.
Need to check a company?
